Dimitris Lagouvardos

Dimitris Lagouvardos is a PhD candidate in the History and Philosophy of Science Dpt of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, while he is holding a Master’s degree from the same department since 2020. His research interests lie in the fields of Science and Technology Studies, mainly focusing on the topics of technological policy, sociotechnical transitions, justice and ethical aspects of socio-technical systems, and public participation in socio-technical change. He is interested in commons theories as well, and specifically the strand related to cosmopolitan commons. He is currently a member of the research team of the Go-JuST project with main task the conceptual and theoretical synthesis of the ‘Just Transitions’ literature which will function as guidance for the study on the justice aspects in agricultural production in Thessaly. He also studies the Western Macedonia delignification under the lens of energy justice and just transitions. He continues his work with the disputed narratives on the research and extraction of hydrocarbons in Greece, under the lens of commons theories.
He had studied chemistry in the Department of Chemistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, from where he received his Diploma in Chemistry on 1989 and his PhD Degree on 1994. He was a postgraduate fellow in the Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute of the National Hellenic Research Foundation, from September 1989 till August 1993. His research work in chemistry has been published in nineteen scientific papers.
